If I eat more fat, I’ll get fat.
Saturated fat is especially bad.
If I rest more, exercise less, I’ll get fat.
If I do both- rest more and eat more fat- the world may end.
This is what I believed for years.
How about you?
What do your actions and choices say? Do you avoid fats? Perhaps you are OK with certain fats, but not others. Maybe olive oil or salmon is OK, but butter or steak is a huge no-no.
What about exercise? Has r.e.s.t become a naughty 4-letter word? Do you beat yourself up when you don’t exercise as much as you think you should?
I sure did.
If you’re like me, this is your reality. This is what you know to be true.

People used to ask me,
“Why do you exercise so much?”
Here are some of the lies I used to tell:
I’m getting ready for a race.
It helps me reduce my stress.
I really love it.
I don’t workout that much…
The weather is so nice I just have to.
It makes me feel great.
It’s my job.
This amount may be “a lot” for a regular person, but I’m highly conditioned so I have to do more to get the same effect…
And on and on and on…
Identifying the lies you tell yourself is critical if you also want to identify the TRUTH about why you exercise excessively.
Is there anything wrong with “clean eating”?
Could eating “too clean” cause problems?
Too much of a good thing?
How do you know when you’ve crossed the line and entered disordered eating territory?
Whoa boy- this is a doozie. Exercise addictions and eating disorders go together like PB and J.
In this post I’m going to tell you how to figure out if you’re entering the eating disorder danger zone.Read More
